On the drive to your destination you will be subjected to the most awe inspiring views as we traverse the coastal roads which include the iconic Chapman’s Peak Drive heading towards the famous Cape Point Nature Reserve.
Chapman’s Peak is named after John Chapman, the pilot of an English ship that anchored in Hout Bay in 1607. It is affectionately nicknamed “Chappies” by the locals. Chapman’s Peak Drive was literally hacked out of the face of the mountain between the years 1915 and 1922, and at the time was regarded as a major feat of engineering. A Mercedes Benz advert was filmed in 1991 which recreated a car crash to depict the safety of Mercedes Benz cars. An interesting fact is that “Chappies” has a total of 114 curves along its 9km length starting at Hout Bay ending off in the lower levels of Noordhoek.
On arrival, you will be introduced to our E-Bikes with a thorough induction to ensure your complete comfort during your cycle. We then embark on an approximate 22 km e-bike cycle tour that will allow you to fully experience the incredible diversity of this reserve. Zebra, Bontebok, Blesbok, Duiker, Springbok, Ostrich, Eland and of course the famous Chacma Baboons plus an impressive array of pelagic birds are just a few of the wildlife gems that can be spotted in this reserve. The amazing array of Fynbos that is endemic to this region is something to be seen. There is common saying relating to the Cape Fynbos – “Look closely to appreciate the perfection of the tiny flowers”.
On this cycle, we visit the Cape of Good Hope, the Dias and Da Gama monuments, Black Rock, pristine hidden beaches and the German bakoond. In addition, you will walk the 290 steps to enjoy the breathtaking view from the Cape Point Lighthouse which stands at 238 meters above sea-level on the highest section of the peak. You may opt to take the Flying Dutchman Funicular to this viewpoint should you wish. An interesting fact, the funicular got its title from a legendary 17th-century ship, The Flying Dutchman, that supposedly met its end at the ‘Cape of Storms’, a stretch of Cape Point’s coastline notorious for its stormy weather.
This tour will leave your feeling enriched and relaxed.

Chapman's Peak or "Chappies"
It is the southerly extension of the Constantia Berg sitting at 593m high. This is a landmark road that joins Hout Bay to Noordhoek with the most expansive and breathtaking views.
