Be picked up from your Guest house or hotel at 9am and enjoy a scenic drive to the majestic Hottentot Holland mountains just outside Grabouw. En route you can enjoy a typical South African snack which we provide for the journey.
Our first stop off is the bustling steampunk Elgin Railway Market (only applicable for weekend bookings) boasting local vendors, live music and a gateway to the beautiful Overberg town. Here we will chill over a meal and enjoy the laid back vibe. If you choose a midweek option, then we will stop for a tasty brunch at the well known Peregrine Farm Stall which was established in the sixties, and has been serving generations of travellers’ honest homemade meals .
After this, we head to Oak Valley Wine Estate, which is just a stone throw away and offload our awesome e-bikes for another beautiful adventure. These routes are interesting, scenic and consist of well maintained single tracks. There are a few obstacles like bridges and fence bridges that make the ride an adventure.
Oak Valley Estate
Oak Valley lies in the heart of the Elgin Valley, renowned for its apples and pears, its greenhouse cut-flowers, and, for the production of its outstanding cool climate wines
We ride approximately 20km through this estate with very little effort. We pass through forests of ancient oaks, vineyards, fruit orchards, across cattle pastures, all set against the beautiful natural scenery and stunning backdrop of the Groenlandberg mountains. There are a few small challenges, which if uncertain, we will assist you to conquer. Please note that this is not ideal for novice riders.
At the end of this adventurous day out, there’s a strong chance you might just close your eyes as we journey back to where we started.
